Best 96GB RAM Laptops in 2026: 9 Picks Compared on Specs

By Paul Syverson · Last updated Oct 20, 2026

Our top pick is a reseller's configuration of the Alienware 16 Area-51: it pairs 96GB of memory with an RTX 5090, NVIDIA's top laptop GPU with 24GB of graphics memory, and 8TB of storage in a 16-inch body. All nine 96GB laptops in our catalogue are reseller configurations built on MSI, ASUS, Alienware and EVOC machines, so we label each pick as one. We compared them on stated specifications only, not lab tests.

9 picks from 7 laptops that match this guide with a price we can quote today. Every price below is live and carries the moment it was read.

Side by side

How we picked

How we picked: our catalogue holds 9 laptops whose listing states 96GB of memory, and this guide covers all 9. Every one is a reseller configuration from one of several resellers, each built on a laptop from MSI, ASUS, Alienware or EVOC. We ranked them on graphics tier, stated storage, screen and weight, since at 96GB the memory is equal across the list. GPU facts come from NVIDIA's published laptop GPU specifications and CPU facts from Intel. Several listings leave out weight or storage; we say so on each pick. Prices on this page are live: each one is read from the store listing and shown with the time it was read. Nobody at wikilaptop.org has tested these units; every comparison below is drawn from the stated specifications.

How to choose

Who actually needs 96GB of memory

96GB is a specialist amount. It helps when your work regularly outgrows 64GB: large datasets, big 3D and simulation scenes, several virtual machines at once, very large code builds and local AI models that spill out of graphics memory into system memory. For gaming, office work and typical creative projects it brings no visible benefit.

Intel lists up to 256GB of memory support for the Core Ultra 9 275HX, so 96GB is well within what these processors handle. Before buying, confirm that a listing means system memory and not a sum of system and graphics memory.

Graphics memory matters as much for AI

For local AI and GPU rendering, the graphics card's own memory often limits what fits. NVIDIA lists 24GB of GDDR7 for the laptop RTX 5090, 16GB for the RTX 5080, 12GB for the RTX 5070 Ti, 8GB or 12GB for the RTX 5070 and 8GB for the RTX 5060. In this list, two picks have an RTX 5090, three an RTX 5080, one an RTX 5070 Ti, two an RTX 5070 and one an RTX 5060.

Reseller configurations

Every laptop here is sold by a reseller that fits extra memory and storage to a base laptop from MSI, ASUS, Alienware or EVOC. Ask who provides warranty service, the reseller or the original maker, and whether the upgrade changes the maker's terms. Check whether the memory sits in slots, which affects later repair.

Storage: stated or not

Five listings state storage in their specifications: four with 16TB and one with 8TB. Two more name 16TB or 8TB only in the title, and two do not state storage at all. With several drives, ask how they are arranged (separate drives or a combined volume) and keep a backup either way.

Size, weight and power

Five picks are 18-inch machines, three are 16-inch and one is 15.3-inch. Stated weights run from 2.2 kg to 3.6 kg, and three listings do not state weight. HX processors are high-power parts built for plugged-in use, so plan for a large power adapter and treat these machines as desk-first workstations.

Questions

Is 96GB of memory useful for gaming?

No. Games depend on the graphics card and processor, and they do not use this much system memory. 96GB helps only when heavy professional apps run alongside or instead of games. If gaming is your main use, put the budget into the GPU and screen; 32GB is already generous for games today.

Should I choose 96GB or 128GB?

Base it on your largest real workload. If your projects already fill 64GB, check how much they use at peak and add headroom. Buying more memory than you use adds cost without speed gains. For local AI, also look at graphics memory: the RTX 5090 picks here have 24GB, per NVIDIA.

Why are all these laptops from resellers?

Makers rarely ship 96GB configurations themselves, so resellers fit extra memory and storage to base laptops. All nine laptops in our catalogue with 96GB are such configurations. Confirm the exact parts fitted and who handles warranty service before you order.

Which pick is the most portable?

A reseller's configuration of the ASUS TUF Gaming A16 has the lightest stated weight at 2.2 kg, followed by the EVOC 16-inch model at 2.51 kg. Three listings do not state a weight. All picks use high-power processors and dedicated graphics, so expect a large charger on top of the stated weight.

Did you test these laptops?

No. Nobody at wikilaptop.org has used these units. We chose and ranked them from the specifications stated on each listing, cross-checked with NVIDIA and Intel published data. We do not describe heat, noise, battery hours or keyboard feel, because those claims would need testing we have not done.
